Rebecca Parrent has been a Computer Explorers Owner/Director in Colorado since 2004.  She has worked in Information Technology since 1984, specializing in user support, custom applications design, curriculum development, adult professional development education for businesses and individuals, and students’ innovative technology education throughout the Denver metro area.  Rebecca received awards with Computer Explorers including July 2010 and October 2009 Franchisee of the Month.  Rebecca participates in many community youth and technology outreach programs including Colorado FIRST LEGO® League since 2005, the Colorado University of Denver’s STEM-a palooza since 2009, the Arvada Harvest Festival, National Guard Family & Youth programs, and offers many after school and summer programs throughout Denver and surrounding suburbs.  We are excited to be inspiring and bringing up the next generation of scientists, engineers, programmers and innovators by working with unique programs in the schools and communities.


Kathy Horst is a retired elementary school teacher. She enjoys taking care of her grandchildren, art and drawing, violin, reading, writing, photography  and scrapbooking.  Kathy enjoys working with Computer Explorers because she likes to work with children.


Katie

Katie Kublitskiy is studying behavioral science with an emphasis on elementary education at Red Rocks Community College.  She is fluent in both English and Russian.  Katie’s experience with children includes being the oldest of 5 which gave her lots of practice in child care.  She also teaches Sunday school and Russian classes.  Katie loves her student’s energy and excitement and the fact that they are so forgiving.

MeghanMeghan Murphy is currently attending Metro State College of Denver working on a degree in criminal justice.  Her previous experience has been as a daycare worker and a nanny.  Meghan most enjoys the excitement of her students when they see their final product and know what they have accomplished.



ColinColin Oates grew up in Littleton, Colorado.  He received a degree in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from the University of Northern Colorado.  Colin is currently working on his masters in curriculum instruction at UC Denver.  He will be teaching seventh grade geography at Niver Creek Middle School beginning the fall of 2011.  Colin likes the energy that kids bring to the classroom.  Teaching is fun!



JessicaJessica Olson is originally from a small town near Athens, GA. She's been living in Colorado for 7 years and is completing her M.Ed in Elementary Education at Regis University. She recently worked as a paraeducator with Aurora Public Schools. She also co-leads a group of high school students at her church. She loves helping students reach their full potential, especially through project-based learning. She brings a lot of positive energy to the classroom!


EricEric Wiens is studying mechanical and electrical engineering at the Colorado School of Mines.  His experience with children includes working as a Computer Explorers teacher, summer camp counselor and running the club meetings at the LEGO® store.  Eric especially likes teaching when his students realize that learning can be fun.  Eric considers himself, modestly, to be an expert in LEGO®s!
